Hi, I’m Katrina and the founder and owner of Katrina Carrington, CPA, PLLC. I started this firm with the desire to help small businesses better manage their finances and take the worry out of their accounting.
Let’s face it, tax laws are complicated and starting or running a new business comes with a host of requirements; from choosing a business structure to ensuring you comply with all federal, state, and local laws. You also need to understand the bottom line and where your money is being spent if you want your business to be profitable and grow. What about financing? You’ll need to have a business plan and your company’s finances in order if you want to be in the best position to obtain a business loan.
All of these things can be overwhelming. You need someone who understands your needs and can help navigate the waters for you. As an accountant and small business owner myself, I can help you do that. Let us handle the accounting so you will be free to run the operations of your business.
Prior to the creation of the company, I worked in both the public and private accounting sector and over the course of 18 years, I’ve gained experience in areas such as financial statement preparation, income taxes, bookkeeping, payroll processing and reporting, and financial planning. I’m proud to say that I am both a military veteran, having served the United States Marine Corps and my country honorably, as well as a dedicated Military Spouse of a retired Marine. In fact, because of my firm's military experiences, it enables us to better serve this community on tax matters unique to the Armed Forces.
My professional credentials include a Certified Public Accountant license (license # 36676). I received my formal education from Campbell University earning an MBA in 2004 and Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting in 2001. I'm also Quickbooks Pro and Quickbooks Online Certified. Professional memberships include American Institue of CPAs (AICPA), North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA), and Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
When not helping my clients reach financial success, you will find me spending time with our two toy poodles (Marty and Alex), awesome and rambunctious three boys, and wonderful loving husband! My hobbies include reading, chess, scrabble, karaoke, and fun-family activities.
You'll find that our firm is friendly, honest, open and professional. Call us to schedule an appointment to discuss what we can do to help grow your business and achieve your financial goals!
